You may choose to walk in on the day itself to sign up on-site. Slots are subject to availability.

Ride on the bicycles we have prepared on-site for you and go on an all-out sprint. You have 5 minutes to clock the maximum distance. See how you fare against the rest on the leaderboard. The Garmin e-Challenge will take place on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th May.

There will be 2 challenges for this activity:

  • Speedway Riders Challenge – only applicable for OCBC Cycle Speedway Championships (Club, Corporate or Women) participants
  • Public Challenge – applicable for public and participants from other ride categories

Speedway Riders Challenge
The fastest 10 participants under the Speedway Riders Challenge will win the following prizes:

Public Challenge
The fastest 3 participants each day under the Public Challenge will win the following prizes:

In addition, the first 11 Public Challenge participants of each day to ride 2.4km within 5 minutes will receive a $100 voucher from either Peach Garden at OCBC Centre, or Beng Thin Hoon Kee Restaurant.

Note: Participants under the Public Challenge will not be ranked with cyclists from the Speedway Riders Challenge.

Garmin e-Challenge format:

  • Garmin e-Challenge is an individual challenge where cyclists compete on a selected virtual section of The Sportive Ride’s route.
  • Only up to 216 pax can compete on each day of the Garmin e-Challenge, which consist of both the Speedway Riders Challenge and Public Challenge.
  • Each participant will be allocated 5 minutes to clock their longest distance on the trainer with bicycles provided by OCBC Cycle’s organising team.
  • At the end of 5 minutes, participants will be ranked based on their distance.
  • In the event of a tie, individuals will be ranked by the following criteria, in order of importance:
    1. Highest Average Speed
    2. Highest Maximum Speed
  • Participants are required to sign-in at the registration area inside OCBC Arena Hall 1 15 minutes before their selected time slots.
  • Prizes are given out to the following:
    1. Top 3 Public Challenge participants each day
    2. Top 3 Speedway Riders Challenge participants across both days

Note: Participants for the Garmin e-Challenge are not eligible for any/additional chances in OCBC Cycle lucky draws.

Rules and Regulations
  1. The Public Challenge is for public and OCBC Cycle mass rides participants only.
  2. The Speedway Riders Challenge is for OCBC Cycle Speedway Championship participants only.
  3. Participants must be 13 years of age and above as of event year to participate in the activity.
  4. Only up to 216 pax can compete on each day of the Garmin e-Challenge, which consist of both the Public Challenge and the Speedway Riders Challenge.
  5. The free registration slots are on a first-come-first-served basis.
  6. Participant who registered online are required to bring along their confirmation slips.
  7. Onsite registration is allowed. However, time slot is subjected to availability.
  8. Participants are strictly not allowed to change their time slots after they have selected their time slot after registration.
  9. No replacement of a rider is allowed after registration is completed.
  10. Helmets are not required to participate in this activity.
  11. Participants are required to have their weight taken at the holding area prior to their ride.
  12. Each participant will be allocated 5 minutes to clock their longest distance on the trainer.
  13. Participants will be ranked based on the distance.
  14. In the event of a tie, participants will be ranked by the pre-determined criteria of highest average speed and/or highest maximum speed in order of importance.
  15. Decisions made by the officials and Event Organiser are final and no appeal will be entertained.
  16. Participants are required to sign-in at the registration area inside OCBC Arena Hall 1, 15 minutes before their registered timeslot.
  17. It is the responsibility of the participants to be punctual for their registered time slot. Any participants who are late may not be allowed to ride in the registered time slot to allow for smooth progression of the event schedule.
  18. Participants are expected to display good sportsmanlike behaviour at all times. Any participant who displays behavior to the contrary or is abusive towards event officials, spectators and public, will be “Disqualified” (DQ) and removed from the venue.
  19. At his/her discretion, officials may impose a penalty on the distance for any infringement of rules or display unsportsmanlike conduct during the activity.
  20. Prizes:

    2. Speedway Riders Challenge (across both days):

  21. Results will be announced on social media and winners will be contacted for prize collection.
  22. Reattempts are allowed. However, slots are subjected to availability.
  23. Registration for the Garmin e-Challenge does not include the event pack.
  24. Participants of Garmin e-Challenge will not be included in the OCBC Cycle lucky draws.
